On My Own Time is Back!

During the pandemic, CNY Arts’ On My Own Time (the collaborative business and arts program) moved to an online event. Now after two years, OMOT is returning for the in-person event at nine Central New York businesses and organizations and Everson Museum of Art.

On My Own Time is a celebration of visual arts that highlights the often unsung artists who create art as an avocation, "on their own time"! Employers of all sizes from business, nonprofit, government, and educational sectors take time to spotlight the creativity of their staff members.

We’re thrilled to welcome back Lockheed Martin, Onondaga County, the City of Syracuse,
Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists, SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, St. Josephs Health, Syracuse City School District, TCGplayer, United Radio, and all their employee artists!

St. Joseph's Health Exhibition for OMOT

This summer, each work site will display original visual art works of employees who are artists “on their own time”. Local arts professionals volunteer to serve as On My Own Time judges. They will select pieces from each exhibit to be featured together in the On My Own Time finale exhibit at Everson Museum of Art this Fall.

The exhibit opens with a reception at the museum on the evening of October 6 and runs through November 13. More details will be posted in September at and on the CNY Arts On My Own Time Facebook page.
