In this class, we will practice drawing the human figure primarily using charcoal, as well as other mark making tools – all supplies are provided. We will set up easels in the gallery and learn “gesture drawing.”
Starting with 5 minute gestural drawings per pose to warm up, we will then do some 10, 15, and 20-minute drawings in order to start capturing more detail. The instructor will give demonstrations and assist everyone as needed. Practicing figure drawing is a great way to become a better artist, no matter what your preferred medium or subject.
All experience levels are welcome, ages 15 and up.
Brooke Snyder—About Me
“I am a local illustrator and have painted many custom portraits, both human and animal. I have a BFA in Illustration and I love to create art that tells a story. I like creating in many different mediums including graphite and charcoal, watercolors, pastels, oils, and digital, but acrylic is my favorite. Animals have always been my inspiration for making art, so if you are an animal lover then we already have a lot in common! Some other things that inspire me are books, anime, and other tv shows and movies (especially Dreamworks). I am so excited to teach this class and connect with everyone! I hope I’ll see you there!”
