Strawberry cushion pieces created by participants in NOPL Cicero's "The Significance of the Strawberry Cushion" workshop will be on display in the glass cabinets. This exhibit is to celebrate spring and the cultural heritage of the Akwesasne nation. Strawberries are culturally significant because they are recognized as the plant closest to the earth. The strawberry cushion is an idea that is well over a century old. The pieces are fashioned in a strawberry shape and decorated with seed beads.

RECEPTION: Tuesday, April 9, 3pm to 4pm - Meet the workshop leader, Mohawk Artist Wilma Zumpano, and enjoy light snacks in the Community Room. The reception open to all; no registration is required.

The exhibit will be open at NOPL Cicero from April 9 at 3pm through April 30 during regular library hours.
